This spring has been a busy time for goats! We’d had 3 kiddings so far, and another kidding expected this week. Milking, bottle feeding, rotating the goats to fresh ground, and taking care of the does, means we’ve been enjoying a lot of goat goodness.
With so many of you interested in having goats, this is the perfect time to share our knowledge with a Goats 101 class! The class will include the following hands-on experiences:
- Handling/Leading Goats
- Goat Health Check (taking temperature, evaluating parasite levels, etc.)
- Trimming Hooves
- Milking
- Possibly Disbudding & Giving Vaccines (If the kid(s) born this week are ready)
We will also have plenty of materials to share, passing on the wisdom we’ve gained over the years. You’ll get our goat healthcare checklist, the calendar for goat care, and many more helpful documents. We’ll share tips like the best time to trim hooves, where to buy supplies, how to pregnancy test your does, the pros and cons of different milking regimens, and more.
The class is this Saturday, May 7th, at 10am. The cost is $40/family. Contact Us to reserve your spot now.
