This was a busy weekend on the farm! We have a lot of livestock for sale and have been busy helping customers get started with their homesteading projects while maintaining our own homestead! Our lawn had been getting pretty overgrown recently because our tractor, which we use to keep the grass trimmed, has a bent tie rod. The replacement part arrived this week so we were able to get it replaced today and get caught up on our bush hogging! The tie rod was bent while clearing land with dense brush, an old stump was hidden and popped up out of no-where, bending the tie rod (as seen below) and causing our front wheel alignment to be all messed up.
One side effect of having the lawn get too high was an influx of wild critters. Just as we were finishing our lunch today we looked out and saw this large rat snake crawling on our back deck! We can’t let these guys keep on loving as they have a bad habit of getting into our chicken and duck houses to steal eggs. Adrienne had some quick work throwing the snake off the deck back into the yard where Harley put the shotgun to good use.

We also have about 40 Pekin Ducks for sale. If you have been thinking about chickens or ducks, then these are for you! They don’t fly away and don’t need a pond or creek. They also lay large delicious eggs and they don’t scratch up your plants like chickens do. You can read more about them on our poultry page. These are for sale for only $10 each!
