We have a new hay rack for our goats! I made this out of scrap wood, horse fencing (2×4 holes), and some chicken wire. It’s about two feet wide, a food and half deep at the top, and two feet long. It hangs on baling twine that is tied to the wood frame, and clips onto the cattle panels that form the hoophouse.
It’s been a big hit! The goats love their hay, of course, and this rack really cuts down on waste. They only pull out enough to eat, not extra to spill on the ground.
After putting this together I realized I could probably have made something out of just horse fencing, and that would have been a lot faster. Well, I know we need more hayracks, so look forward to a version 2.0 sometime soon!
